Caipirinha
Crisp, sharp and refreshing. Limes, Cachaça and sugar.
The other huge drink from the late 90’s was the caipirinha. Despite the fact that Brazilians have been drinking these for about three hundred years, it was only fifteen years ago that Londoners discovered it. One whole lime crushed with sugar and a massive measure of Cachaça. The word caipirinha is Portuguese for “peasant drink” and this is the national drink of Brazil, where there are lots of limes, sugar, and lots and lots of Cachaca.
