Just a quick letter to let you guys know your website is amazing. I’ve been bartending for the last 3 years and in the last 18 months or so have taken quite a liking to cocktails, both their history and the making of them. Currently I am working in Perth at Botanical Bar. Not a venue huge on cocktails but we do enough for me to have my fun.

Your website has provided hours upon hours of reading, I can’t seem to pull myself away from it! The depth of information is incredible and I think its safe to say i have learned almost as much of there in a couple of weeks of checking it out as i have in all of my bartending career. Well, I’ll be honest, I never do this, but then again, I have never experienced a place like yours!
However, I really felt the urge to say and huge thanks and congratulations on what is now, the best cocktail bar not just in Melbourne, but anywhere I have been both here and overseas.
I had my first 1806 experience Saturday night and despite travelling solo from Sydney, the staff were wonderful and even went out of their way for the occasional chat when quiet. Along with their obvious knowledge, they never once made a relative lightweight feel “dumb” for asking a question and went about their business without pretentiousness as can often be found in up market bars. The drinks were superb, could not fault any of the numerous cocktails consumed. Along with the fact that the staff obviously enjoy what they do, it turned what was meant to be a one drink stopover before moving onto my former favorite place, into a 5 hour master class .
Thanks again for what was a brilliant night, you guys deserve all the accolades and prise that has come from much bigger names then me! – Simon
